Corrective shoeing techniques

 
Carl is going to help students appraise the conformation faults etc. of several horses then hot shoe one so that you can see how it should be done. This will be followed by a talk on the different types of shoes that are necessary to overcome such problems as collapsed heels, quarter cracks, corns, white line trauma, flat feet etc. 
Carl is an Accredited Farrier with 46 years experience, and has shod most breeds of horses. He specializes in shoeing Standard Breds and horses with conformation problems. He developed O'Dwyer Horse shoe Sales Australia P/L. before selling it to the Mustad group, who are a Swedish company. He currently works with the company as a
Consultant and is in his seventh year as a Board Member of Harness Racing Victoria.
