Centenary Sculpture Maquette
On Monday 12th April 2010 Professor Ken Hinchcliff and Professor Bruce Parry presented the first maquette of the Centenary Memorial Sculpture to Dr Val Sloss.
The cast bronze maquette is a scale model of the centenary sculpture "New Life", located in the grounds of the Werribee Campus, which was modelled on Dr Sloss holding a newly delivered calf whilst a kelpie watches the pair. The presentation was held in the home of Dr and Mrs Astra Sloss.
Dr Sloss thanked Professors Hinchcliff and Parry for their gesture on behalf of the Faculty and reiterated the importance the Faculty plays in educating the highest calibre veterinary students in Australia.
Also in attendance at the presentation was sculpture artist, Mr Peter Corlett.
If you are interested in purchasing one of the maquettes they are on sale for $1,980 including GST. Please contact either Professor Bruce Parry on brucewp@unimelb.edu.au or Mr Peter Moran on pgmoran@unimelb.edu.au.
