Bachelor of Science

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine & Veterinary Bioscience specialisation
All students interested in entering the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, either as a graduate or via the Veterinary Bioscience specialisation of the Bachelor of Science, should apply on-line (hyperlinks below) for the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
International students
Applications are now open. All applications are acknowledged and students will be advised of outcomes within four weeks. Students that do not meet the entry requirements will be advised immediately.
Local students
Applications are now closed.
Prospective students are advised to familiarise themselves with the Faculty of Veterinary Science’s Core Participation Requirements.
Overseas qualified veterinarians
If you have obtained a veterinary qualification from an overseas university you should note that places for entry beyond the first year are limited. Selection would be restricted to those with outstanding academic records. You are strongly advised, in the first instance, to attempt the National Veterinary Examination through the Australasian Veterinary Boards Council Inc.

Postgraduate coursework or research degrees
Graduate Research Degrees
Prospective students interested in applying for a Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Philosophy or Master of Veterinary Science should fill out the Expression of Interest form. We will determine whether there is a supervisor available to support your application. Please do not contact supervisors directly.
Applications will be considered at any time but normally should be made prior to the main scholarship deadlines at 31 August (international applicants) or 31October (Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens or Australian Permanent Residents).
Graduate Coursework Degrees
Master of Veterinary Public Health (Emergency Animal Diseases)
Applications are now open. The closing date for applications to commence Modules 1 and 2 in July is Thursday 31st May 2012.
Expressions of interest and applications to undertake individual units under the Community Assistance Program are accepted year round. Please email vet-publichealth@unimelb.edu.au for details.
Postgraduate Certificate in Avian Health, Master of Avian Health and Medicine
Students should apply directly to the Faculty of Veterinary Science for both these courses. If you have any queries in relation to the applications please contact the Research and Graduate Studies Manager on + 61 3 8344 0357. There is a single intake into the Avian Health programs in Semester 1 each year and applications generally close the last week of November.
