Just as this Journal goes to press we have received the sad news of the death of Colonel Maxwell Carroll after a very brief illness. Only a few days before his death many of Colonel Carroll’s friends from other States had had the pleasure of meeting him again at the General Meeting of the Australian Veterinary Association in Melbourne, at which time he appeared to be in the best of health and displayed his accustomed keen interest in the proceedings of the meeting. Colonel Carroll was a member of the Victorian Veterinary Association and a foundation member of the Australian Veterinary Association, and his gentle courtesy and unfailing kindness will long be remembered by those who had the privilege of his friendship.
The Australian Veterinary Association was represented at the funeral by the President, Dr. J.A. Gilruth, and the Victorian Veterinary Association by its President, Colonel L.C. Whitfield.
