WILLIAM DUNBAR SHEW, B.V.Sc

We regret to announce the death of Mr W D Shew on September 6, 1947, after a long illness.

Mr Shew, who was educated at Scotch College, Melbourne, commenced his veterinary training at the Melbourne Veterinary College, and subsequently graduated as BVSc after a post graduate course at the Melbourne University.  He practised at Camperdown for several years, and then joined the Victorian Department of Agriculture as Veterinary Officer.  Prior to his retirement on the grounds of ill health in 1945, he occupied the position of Senior Veterinary Officer.  Mr Shew served in World War I as Captain in the A.A.V.C. with the Light Horse in Egypt and Palestine.

During his professional career he was an active member of the Australian Veterinary Association, serving on the Council of the Association, and of the Victorian Division.  He was President of the Victorian Division [Veterinary Association of Victoria] in 1937.

We extend our deepest sympathy to Mrs Shew and the members of his family.
