BVSc (Syd 1972); PhD Pathologist, aquatic animal health, DPIW Mt Pleasant Laboratory, Tasmania more than 20 years. She is one of few experts in the world on abalone diseases. After working in production and small animal practice and production animal reproduction research, she completed a PhD in 1981. She has spent the following 2 decades in diagnostic animal pathology, of which aquatic animal pathology has comprised a large proportion, along with an increasing research component. She is currently employed as senior aquatic animal pathologist by Department of Primary Industry, Water and Environment, Tasmania, and is an Honorary Research Associate of the Tasmanian Aquaculture & Fisheries Institute, University of Tasmania.
