BVSc (Melbourne 1968) PhD (Curtin 2006) 1st woman President, AVA
Founding member of the VSSV (Veterinary Students’ Society of Victoria) in 1963. Graduated 1968, and member of AVA ever since. Secretary and President of the AVA Practitioners’ Branch in Western Australia, then Secretary and President of the WA Division before becoming the first woman to be National President of the Australian Veterinary Australia, in 1982. Vice Chairman of the Organising Committee for the highly successful XXII World Veterinary Congress. Meritorious Service Award and AVA Fellow. Active in Pets as Therapy activities in the community and her PhD was on occupational injury, disease and stress in the veterinary profession.
