First woman to be awarded the University Medal (Sydney)
First woman to obtain a PhD at the Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Sydney
First woman in Australia to be awarded a Doctor of Veterinary Science in 1988
Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists
Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (RIRCD) Award (2001)
International Committee of Bacterial Nomenclature
Editorial Boards of Veterinary Microbiology and Clinical Infectious Diseases
