McCarthy, Cate

Graduated from the Royal Veterinary College London in 1946. Came to Australia and joined the staff of the Animal Welfare League, substantially reorganizing the veterinary support and setting up a desexing and vaccination clinic. She retired from AWL in 1996. She has been significantly involved with community pet care programs in South Australia such as “Adopt a Cat”, “Pets as Therapy”, “Canine Good Citizen” and pet park projects for Adelaide councils.
