

Established one of the first private practices outside the Adelaide metropolitan area. In 1967 she helped establish the Rural Practitioners Branch. Elected Fellow of the AVA in 1976 and Life Fellow in 1981
In a Flinders University ceremony to celebrate the Centenary of Women's Suffrage in South Australia, Helen was awarded the Chancellor's Medal, which recognized women whose lives and careers most fulfilled the aspirations of the women suffragettes. The citation made reference to her successful career in a male-dominated profession, to her substantial contributions to rural practice, and to support she gave to fellow practitioners.
