

BVSc (Sydney 1971) After working in small animal practice in Australia and London, she completed a Diploma in Bacteriology at the London School of Tropical Health and Medicine in 1975. She then worked for the UK Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries on leptospirosis. Highlights of her career in Australia include collaborative veterinary projects between Australia and Indonesia as technical co-ordinator of the Australian International Development Assistance Bureau (AIDAB) funded Eastern Islands Veterinary Services Projects and, with the NSW Department of Agriculture:
Assistant Director of the Brucellosis and Tuberculosis Eradication Campaign (first woman in a senior veterinary position in this organisation);
Principal Veterinary Officer (Endemic Diseases) and Director, Disease Control;
Division Chief, Animal Health (first woman to hold this position);
Division Chief, Animal Industries (first woman to hold this position).
