Chief General Manager of Primary Industries, South Australia (1993)
Member, Institute of Medical and Veterinary Science Council
Deputy Chair, Roseworthy Agricultural College
Head, National Registration Authority, Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals
Member, South Australian Environment Protection council (first woman to hold this position)
Barbara’s interest in the long term interests of the livestock industry have found expresion in her initiation of reforms to make these highly regulated industries more competitive and reforms she has initiated have changed the role of the public service and the government in these industries in South Australia.
She has also been a role model for women in administrative, managerial and professional position in the public service.
