New online resource for sheep and beef producers
Press release
1 October 2007
A new website that will promote awareness about a unique range of services to sheep and beef producers, including farm management consultancy, farmer training programs, contract research and graduate training, was launched recently.
The essential online resource - www.mackinnonproject.com.au was initiated by the Faculty of Veterinary Science’s sheep and beef consultancy and research team, ‘the Mackinnon Project’.
Director of the Mackinnon Project, Dr John Larsen said: “We are really pleased with the new website. We expect it will become an extremely informative and effective form of communication for all those involved in the sheep and beef industries, and for those who are looking to develop their skills in this area.
“It will provide farmers, veterinarians and agribusiness with independent research-based advice, and up-to-date information about the latest developments and news from the Mackinnon Project. Details about our current and past research projects, selected decision support tools, diagnostic animal health services, products and seminars targeting topical issues associated with sheep and beef production will also be available online.”
The Mackinnon Project, which is recognised as a leader in sheep and beef consultancy in Australia and internationally, worked with Grindstone Creative, a multidisciplinary marketing service company, to develop a comprehensive, clear and user-friendly resource, which would provide essential information to a wide-ranging audience.
