Vet Clinic opens doors to aspiring veterinarians and pet owners

Do you have a passion for animals? Interested in finding out what it's like to be a veterinarian? Would you like to go behind-the-scenes at a working vet hospital? The University of Melbourne's Veterinary Science Open Day is an opportunity for future students, pet owners and the community to visit the state-of-the-art Veterinary Hospital.
The annual Open Day is on Sunday 22 March from 10 am to 4 pm. Visitors will have the chance to speak to veterinary staff, meet current students and take a tour of the outstanding facilities at one of Australia's leading veterinary hospitals.
The Veterinary Hospital is a teaching hospital, providing clinical teaching for students studying Veterinary Science at the University of Melbourne, as well as veterinary care for around 17,000 animals each year.
Course and career advice will be available throughout the day, along with tours of the hospital and clinic facilities. Prospective students will have the opportunity to find out about the University's new Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program and speak to teaching staff and veterinarians.
Animal lovers can view interactive displays from veterinary exhibitors including the Guide Dog Association, the Police Dog Squad and the Victorian Ferret and Avicultural Societies.
