25 January 2008

Graduates of the Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree at the University of Melbourne have ranked the course as number one for overall student satisfaction in the University’s 2007 ‘Course Experience Questionnaire’.  The popular program obtained the highest position amongst 11 faculties at the University, receiving a ranking of 97.8 for overall satisfaction.

Veterinary Science graduates also voted the course as top for good teaching and generic skills.  The student survey drew on the experiences of veterinary graduates who had completed the course in 2006.

Professor Ken Hinchcliff, Dean of the Faculty commented:  “Our students are extremely important to us, and it is our aim to provide an exceptional student experience to everyone that undertakes the course. We are absolutely thrilled with the results of the latest student survey, as it shows that our students are overwhelming satisfied with the quality of the teaching and student facilities that are offered.

“Our Veterinary School has been providing world-class education since 1909, and we are very proud of our excellent reputation.  We hope that these results along with our consistently high ranking for graduate employability will ensure that prospective students realise the significant benefits of studying Veterinary Science at the University of Melbourne.”
