How to apply

Prospective applicants should have decided on whether they are interested in a coursework or a research degree and have a clear idea of the discipline area in which they wish to work. Research programs are usually only offered where there is already work being done (refer to the 'graduate opportunities' section).

If you are interested in applying for a Research Higher Degree (Master of Veterinary Science, Master of Philosophy, or PhD), please fill out the Expression of Interest form. We will determine whether there is a supervisor available to support your application. Please do not contact supervisors directly.

International Students

All international students applying for a graduate course need to apply via the International Admissions Office. Please refer to the University page regarding international student applications.

Local Students

Local applicants include: Australian Citizens, Australian Permanent Residents and New Zealand Citizens.

Application closing dates

Research applications (MVSc & PhD) will be considered at any time but normally should be made prior to scholarship closing dates (see "Scholarships " section).

For the Postgraduate Certificate in Avian Health and Master of Avian Health and Medicine closing dates generally close the last week of January for the intake in March and the last week of July for the intake in September.

Coursework applications (MVS) will be considered twice per year. Applications for Semester one will close on 31 October and for Semester two on 30 April. Applications based in the Veterinary Clinic and Hospital will be considered up to 1 March for Semester one and 1 August for Semester two.

Notification of Outcome

Advice will be provided within six weeks of application. (See "Scholarships " section)
