Supporting us
Our aim is to continue to provide an education in veterinary science that is second to none, to conduct innovative and pertinent research into the diseases of animals and humans, and to exchange knowledge with society, including the veterinary profession, pet owners, and the general public.
To do this we need the best equipment, the most up-to-date facilities and the most experienced staff.
This all costs money but with your help we can ensure the Melbourne School of Veterinary Science and the University Veterinary Hospital maintains exceptionally high levels of education and service.
There are a number of ways in which you can support our mission:
- Becoming a Friend of the University Veterinary Hospital
- Leave a lasting legacy through a bequest
- Supporting scholarships and bursaries which help tomorrow’s veterinarians today
These are just a few ways in which you can make a meaningful contribution to our work. Please contact our Advancement Manager to discuss your special area of interest.
All donations to the Melbourne School of Veterinary Science and the University Veterinary Hospital of $2 and more are tax deductible.
How does your support help?
We have a clear vision for the Faculty of Veterinary Science. Building on our proud history and past achievements we aim to secure our position at the forefront of veterinary education and research by delivering training and scientific programs comparable to any in the world. This we plan to achieve by being a primary focus for academic excellence, scientific expertise, technical ability and professional collaboration.
Our vision for tomorrow rests on three key areas:
Scholarships - Equal opportunity for the best students to become veterinarians
Academic Excellence - Securing and retaining the best staff to drive cutting edge research and to deliver training and clinical services of the highest standard particularly in the areas of Veterinary Public Health and Australian Wildlife Health
World Class Infrastructure - the best physical environment, appropriately equipped with the latest technology for the benefit of students, patients and staff
Each of these key objectives plays a vital role in the Faculty's mission to advance the profession and secure the University's place as a key focus for animal and human health. Each has at its core a clear strategic purpose in ensuring that we provide the best training and support for the veterinarians of today and tomorrow.
The finances needed to advance our education; research and clinical programs are considerable. While government provides a base of assistance, this appropriation alone is not sufficient to achieve excellence as we meet the veterinary challenges of the 21st Century.
We invite you to share this exciting journey as we continue to secure the future health of animals and people.
